Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS)
One App. An Entire Neurosurgical Ecosystem.

The Challenge
The Congress of Neurological Surgeons had a wealth of valuable digital resources but accessing them on mobile meant navigating multiple experiences.
CNS had three separate mobile apps serving different purposes, creating a fragmented experience for members and limiting adoption. Rather than simply modernizing the existing apps, CNS saw an opportunity to rethink what a mobile experience for a neurosurgeon should be.
The goal was bigger than consolidation: create one intelligent, personalized mobile platform that could become an everyday connection between CNS and its members.
Built Around the Neurosurgeon
Celerate began with research, not development.
We worked directly with a group of neurosurgeons to understand what information they needed away from their computers, how they searched for clinical and educational content, and what would make a CNS mobile experience valuable enough to use regularly.
Those insights shaped CNS+ a custom mobile platform designed specifically around the needs of neurosurgeons, residents, and CNS members.
Rather than trying to recreate the CNS website on a smaller screen, we focused on what members need in the moment.

One Personalized CNS Experience
CNS+ brings critical CNS resources together in a single mobile experience, including education, clinical guidelines, resident learning and self-assessment resources, member information, organizational notifications, highlighted content, and Annual Meeting experiences.
A personalized My CNS experience gives members a central place to see information and resources relevant to them, while integrations with CNS systems and APIs allow the app to become increasingly connected to the broader CNS digital ecosystem.
And because CNS+ was built as a custom platform not an off-the-shelf product it has continued to evolve as CNS’s needs have changed.
Then We Added AI
The next evolution of CNS+ was the creation of CNS’s first generative AI knowledge experience.
Working with CNS and AWS, Celerate developed an AI proof of concept using AWS cloud technologies and a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture to unlock CNS’s extensive repository of trusted neurosurgical knowledge.
Instead of searching through individual articles, guidelines, educational resources, and other content, a neurosurgeon can ask a complex question in natural language and receive a relevant response grounded in CNS knowledge, with connections back to trusted source material.
The result transforms CNS+ from a place to find content into a tool for interacting with knowledge.

One AI Knowledge Layer. Multiple Experiences.
The real power of the solution is what happens next. The AI knowledge engine was not built as an isolated chatbot. Celerate designed it
