The Client
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) is one of the most respected surgical organizations in the world. Its SESAP (Self-Education and Self-Assessment in Surgery Program) is a cornerstone product supporting lifelong learning and board preparation for surgeons globally.
The program must be academically rigorous, technically flawless, and stable under high usage.
The Challenge
With SESAP 17 and 18, ACS required a modernized digital assessment platform capable of:
- Delivering self-assessments and CME credit-bearing exams
- Supporting multiple attempts and practice modes
- Providing personalized learner dashboards
- Tracking mastery across topic areas
- Scaling reliably for thousands of surgeons
The platform had to feel intuitive while managing complex exam logic behind the scenes.
Key Insight
When launching SESAP 19, expectations were even higher. The new edition needed to evolve the experience without disrupting a trusted learning ecosystem.

SESAP 18 introduced engaging features, including:

The platform supports:

With SESAP 19, we expanded the platform’s feature set and refined user experience enhancements visible in the newest release.
Built on the same stable GoSuite foundation, SESAP 19 introduces additional capabilities designed to further modernize surgical exam preparation while maintaining consistency for returning users.
This marks the second full-generation evolution of the SESAP platform built in partnership with ACS.
